There are drones and then there are drones. The drones we’re used to seeing are small and used mainly for photography but we saw the next generation of drones at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Two in particular caught our eye at CES – and they were the biggest drones we’ve ever seen. One was the AEE F600 which has a wingspan of 1.65m, and the other was the Ehang 184 which can actually carry a passenger. These drones were located in the South Hall at the Las Vegas Convention Centre which this year had an expanded area…

All of the new TVs unveiled at the recent Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas had one thing in common – HDR. High Dynamic Range is the ability to expand the differences between the brightest and darkest images a TV can produce. HDR was a feature we first saw in cameras – including the iPhone camera – to make your…

GoPro has announced big product plans for 2016 including a drone, the Hero 5 and a 360-degree camera – but its not willing to show it yet, not even at the Consumer Electronics Show – the world’s largest tech event. GoPro had an even bigger presence at CES this year with a larger booth located in the heart of the central hall at the Las Vegas Convention Centre rubbing shoulders with companies like Samsung, LG, Canon and Sony. The larger stand is a far cry from the days when GoPro was building its own booths using IKEA furniture before the…
Projectors are traditionally large devices that are used in one place either on a table or mounted on the ceiling but Sony has unveiled a high definition projector that will fit in your pocket. The MP-CL1, which we saw for the first time at the Consumer Electronics Show, is a portable mobile projector that uses a laser light source instead of a regular lamp to deliver high definition 1920 x 720 resolution. Samsung range of new TVs at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas were impressive but the real showstoppers were the world’s largest Ultra High Definition TV and the TV that can transform to suit your content’s aspect ratio. CES is the biggest tech trade show in the world and is used to showcase a company’s latest concept products. In Samsung’s case the 170-inch SUHD TV – that’s 4.3m – was on display for the first time and will be available to purchase – if you have enough money that is. Our guess is the monstrous television will be well…
Sphero’s BB8 remote control droid from the latest Star Wars film has been a huge hit but a new device has been released to control the little droid like you’re using the Force. The Force Band is worn on your wrist like a watch and connects wirelessly to BB8 to provide gesture controls. The new Force Band can precisely measure the alignment of your arm and hands and translates these into commands for BB8.
