If your car requires you to connect a cable to activate CarPlay or Android Auto then you need the new AAWireless TWO+ adapter so you can go hands free and cable free.
The unit itself is about the size of a matchbox and has a USB C port to connect the included USB-C to USB-A cable.
It doesn’t include a USB C to USB C cable because if your car has USB C ports, it is probably a recent model and has wireless CarPlay and Android Auto on board already.
But even older Cars with USB a ports still need to have Android Auto and car play already built into the vehicle for the AAWireless TWO+ adapter to work.
This device does not bring CarPlay Android order to a vehicle that doesn’t already have it – there are other devices that can do that.
The AAWireless TWO+ adapter is simply a way to create a wireless connection between your vehicle and your phone to facilitate wireless CarPlay an Android Auto for your journey.
This means you can get into your car and your iPhone or Android will connect to the vehicle via the AAWireless TWO+ to enable CarPlay or Android Auto
For our testing we hooked up the AAWireless TWO+ adapter to my wife’s Kia Sportage which needs her to connect to cable to enable CarPlay with her iPhone.
There is an illuminated button on the adapter with different colours to reflect its connection status.
Blinking green means its connecting to your phone and blinking blue means its connecting to your car’s screen.
Solid blues means everything is connected.
When in pairing mode (you press and hold the button for two seconds) the ring will blink purple and should show up in the list of available devices in the Bluetooth settings
We followed the instructions and had no luck getting CarPlay to work through the Unfortunately, even after an hour of trying, the AAWireless TWO+ adapter simply wouldn’t show up in the iPhone’s Bluetooth menu when the adaptor was placed into pairing mode.
The previous model that we reviewed on Tech Guide was designed for Android Auto only and it worked immediately.
Similarly with the AAWireless TWO+ we connected our Samsung Galaxy S25 and it connected in seconds through the phone’s Bluetooth menu.
There is also an AAWireless companion app that also facilitate the connection.
We tried connecting our iPhone 17 Pro Max through the app and unfortunately had no luck there either.
We’re not sure whether we had a faulty unit but we are assured it is supposed to connect your iPhone wirelessly to your car to enjoy wireless CarPlay.
We did check some online reviews and found some other customers have had issues connecting CarPlay as well. We believe AAWireless is working on a firmware update.
