The ASUS Zenbook Duo is a one of a kind laptop that can transform your workflow aand entertainment options on the move. It is a quality machine from top to bottom and once you use it you can never go back.
It doesn’t take long to find out why the new 2026 ASUS Zenbook Duo stands out from the crowd. It takes just one look but then you start using it and realise it has the power to go the unique and stunning design.
The appeal, apart from the fact that it has dual 14-inch 3K ASUS Lumina Pro OLED touchscreen displays, is also the Zenbook Duo’s versatility.
Priced at $6,399 the ASUS Zenbook Duo (Model No UX8407) at first glance looks like a regular laptop. You open it up. You see a screen and a keyboard.
But the keyboard is detachable and can connect to the computer via Bluetooth.
You slide it away and suddenly another OLED screen comes to life.
This design has been around for a couple of years now but the 2026 version is even more refined, with narrower bezels and touchscreen displays and a hinge that just disappears when you unfold the device.
Once you’ve slipped the keyboard on to the desk, you can see the two OLED screens in all their glory.
From here you can choose to have two horizontal screens, one above the other, or turn it on its side and have two vertical screens side by side.
What helps the situation is the fact there is a stand on the rear of the displays that can hold it firmly in place while you’re working.
That luxury of space on your desktop anywhere you go is a unique feature that helped us stay productive and improved our efficiency.
The time saving of not having to switch back and forth between applications was the game changer.
The ASUS Zenbook Duo, we were able to see everything at once.
On the design side ASUS has added its unique Ceraluminum material to the product which gives it an added strength and a more premium look.
As you’d expect with two displays, the ASUS ZenBook Duo is on the chunkier side compared to single-screen laptops on the market – it’s about 2cm thick.
But it only weighs 1.65 kg.
That’s a lighter load than carrying a laptop and an additional portable monitor.
The detachable keyboard is full size and attaches magnetically to the lower half of the Duo when used in laptop mode
It’s backlit, has nice travel in the keys, and offers a decent-sized trackpad.
The Duo is powered by the Intel Core Ultra X9 series 3 processor and Intel ARC B390 discrete level GPU.
Our review unit had 32GB RAM and a 1TB SSD drive and was running Windows 11.
Under the hood there was enough power to get through most of your intensive tasks, including editing and watching videos as well as playing the latest games, which lean into the processing power.
The Zenbook Duo can handle some pretty high-end games but it’s not a dedicated gaming PC. If that’s what you’re after, you’d probably need to look elsewhere, including another ASUS product – the Zephyrus Duo which is another dual-screen laptop that specialises in running the top-end games.
The Zenbook Duo is also a great way to watch your content thanks to Dolby Vision certification and a Dolby Atmos six-speaker system.
On the connectivity side there’s a USB-C on the left and right side, which can both be used for charging, plus a USB-A port, an HDMI output, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The stand is the real unsung hero feature here. It provides the support to basically achieve a desktop-like setup that allows you to work anywhere.
Between the hinge, in between the displays and the stand, there are several options and angles available to the user to achieve a comfortable setup.
The displays are absolutely stunning with their 3K resolution and the fact they are touchscreens as well just makes them even better.
The bezels around the screens are even thinner than the previous models, which means more screen and less space between the displays when using them in Duo mode.
We use the ASUS Zenbook Duo in a few places including some bright areas but thankfully the anti-reflective coating worked well enough for us to not be distracted by anything else except what was on our screen.
The device has a 99Wh battery and comes with a 100W USB-C charger so you can recharge the battery quickly.
Obviously running two displays puts greater pressure on the battery than a regular single-screen laptop.
We found we were using dual screen mode about 60 per cent of the time and the battery got us through almost two full workdays.
On the software side ASUS has a few of its own applications including ASUS Story Cube, which is a great way to sort, store, and edit your images in one place.
The ASUS Zenbook Duo is a standout laptop and once you use it and integrate it into your workflow, it’s hard to go back to using a regular laptop.
It’s like power steering in your car – you’d never imagine buying a car in the future without it.
But the only downside we could see is the price. At $6,399 it’s significantly more than what you would spend on an average laptop. But that’s just the thing, the ASUS ZenBook Duo is far from average.
The good news is we have seen significant price reductions and specials. The best price we found was on the ASUS website itself which had a special offer starting at $4,799.
That’s a saving of $1,600.
The ASUS Zenbook Duo is available now.
