The chassis is made from full Ceraluminum – ASUS’s own proprietary material that has the texture of a smooth stone and the strength of metal.
Previously the Ceraluminum would only be on the lid of the laptop but ASUS has taken it all the way around including around the keyboard and on the base.
What we loved about it was the fact that it was not only sturdy but also stayed smudge-free and clean even after using it all day.
And it’s also incredibly light at just 1.2 kg. And it’s only 1.65cm thick.
When you go to pick it up, you’re expecting it to be a lot heavier.
The Zenbook A16 is the same weight as the Zenbook A14 so going bigger is not going to affect its portability.
The keyboard is well spaced and the keys have a nice amount of travel.
The track pad is also generously sized and makes it easy to navigate the system.
Onboard is a remarkable 16-inch 3K ASUS Lumina OLED display which has a 90 per cent screen-to-body ratio.
Under the hood is the 18-core Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme processor this provides the power, speed, and performance you need for running your applications, multitasking and gaming.
This is also a co-pilot plus PC so AI is front and centre and always at your fingertips.
The chip offers 80 TOPS NPU making the ASUS Zenbook A16 most powerful Snapdragon laptop on the market.
For our review it easily handled our workflow which included photo and video editing.
The ASUS Zenbook A16 can match the performance of a MacBook Pro M5 when it comes to multi-tasking, productivity, coding, gaming and 3D rendering.
When it comes to onboard AI processing to improve your creativity, efficiency, and productivity, the laptop has got it where it counts as well.
In terms of performance and efficiency, the CPU, GPU, and NPU all work together and can access memory without getting in each other’s way.
That means instant response and outstanding performance so you can get things done.
And all the while things are kept cool and quiet thanks to the new focused airflow structure that sends cool air through the keyboard to the hottest zones with remarkable accuracy and efficiency.
What made our tasks easier was the generous 16-inch OLED display it offered gorgeous quality, amazing colours and tremendous brightness.
The only downside was it could be reflective at times because of its glossy finish but usually the brightness of what we were looking at would more than compensate for the distraction.
The larger screen size provided enough real estate to be able to get to all our work and open applications.
Another great use for that screen is to watch your content in superb quality.
And there are also six speakers on board so it sounds amazing as well.
On the connectivity side you’ve got a memory card reader and a USB-A port on the right and two USB-C ports, a HDMI port, and a headphone jack on the left.
Now probably one of the best features of the ASUS Zenbook A16 is the stunning battery life which got us through two full workdays before we needed to reach for the charger.
