The ECOVACS DEEBOT T90 Pro Omni is an efficient all-in-one hands-off cleaning system that provides a surprisingly high standard of cleaning every single time so you can get on with other things.
The new ECOVACS DEEBOT T90 Pro Omni is the latest generation hands free robot vacuum system that’s ideal for households with pets and anyone who wants to get back the time they used to spend cleaning their floors.
Tech Guide took the T90 Pro Omni for a test drive at our place and it completely took over the floor cleaning duties.
This model has the upgraded Ozmo Roller 3.0 which is 50 per cent longer at 27cm roller so it can cover even more floor area.
And on the suction side the T90 Pro Omni goes to another level with up to 16 litres per second air flow and up to 30,000Pa suction power which makes light work collecting any debris on your floors.
The upgraded BLAST technology now drives larger fan blades in a low resistance structure to deliver the power required to achieve this level of suction.
At the heart of the new system is the PowerBoost technology that tops up the battery during mop cleaning intervals so it could clean up to 500 square metres in a single run and without the need to worry about a low battery or an incomplete job.
In fact, the onboard self-optimising algorithm can dynamically reserve power and enable 10 per cent of battery power to be restored in the three minutes it takes to perform its routine mop cleaning interval.
It can be truly left to its own devices thanks to the AI powered Agent Yiko which uses intelligence scene recognition to identify different room types, floor materials and pet zones and then adapt the cleaning modes to suit.
It can adjust suction, water flow and route planning in real time to deliver the best results with zero interaction with the owner.
Setting up the T90 Pro Omni is really simple.
The unit can literally talk you through the set up process.
When it’s connected to power for the first it begins talking to you and offering set up tips so it makes the whole thing a lot less intimidating especially for older users.
The first step is to find an open area in your home with enough room for the Omni cleaning station and that’s near a PowerPoint.
In our case, we found the ideal spot in the corner of our living area that meant the robot had easy access in and out and it was right next to a wall outlet.
On the design side ECOVACS has certainly upped its game with the subtle and minimal Nordic inspired look that is not going to overtake your décor but that won’t fade into the background either.
It’s light beige colour also made it a lot softer and made it feel like part of our home.
Once connected to our Wi-Fi network through the companion app it was then a matter of mapping our home.
And it was at this point where I wished we were able to share maps previously created by other DEEBOT robot vacuums.
It would be great if we could store the map of our home (which would never change) in the ECOVACS cloud and allow it to work off that information.
But this was no deal breaker it took a surprisingly short period of time for the T90 Pro Omni to get around our house and create a workable map before it was deployed for its first clean.
From the app you can also name the rooms to make it easier in future to deploy the robot to clean a specific area or to start a complete clean from that point.
At our place we mainly have a hard tiled floors and two rooms that are carpeted.
With the ECOVACS app we were able to check our cleaning mode, adjust the section power, water flow rate and the cleaning speed.
Users can also set cleaning schedules through the app and even deploy the robot to clean while they are out and about.
We’ve done this a few times when we find out there are people coming over and want to come home to a clean floor instead of spending the time doing ourselves when we got home.
The robot is also equipped with AIVI 3D 4.0 obstacle avoidance technology so it can easily find its way around your home and avoid any items in its way.
Now it was time to get down to cleaning and immediately we saw the Ozmo Roller 3.0 scouring our floors at 200 RPM.
It did a great job getting rid of the stains and marks on our floor. It covered 78 square metres in one hour and 33 minutes according to the cleaning log on the app.
And, thanks to the TruEdge 3.0 Extreme Edge cleaning, the roller was able to slide out of the side of the unit and glide smoothly along the walls so it could clean right to the edge.
While this is happening the onboard high performance pressurised water pump directs precision nozzles to tackle even the most stubborn messes.
And the robot is constantly cleaning the roller with its self-cleaning wastewater system.
It uses a dual scraping mechanism and an independent sediment trough to remove dirt quickly.
This both removes the risk of contamination and eliminates odours.
And the best thing about it is that is a completely hands off system – you don’t need to touch anything.
On the vacuuming side, the T90 Pro Omni made light work of our chocolate coloured carpets which tend to easily show up any dust or debris that happens to be present.
But the robot efficiently navigated the rooms and cleaned them so well with its improved suction that it left a satisfying clean trail behind it just like a powerful stick vacuum would.
Having this added suction at your disposal his ideal for vacuuming pet hair.
What helps with the cleaning efficiency is the all new ZeroTangle 4.0 with lateral airflow channels and a wider dual bearing structure which helps capture dust and hair without any tangles.
This means less maintenance and a clear channel to keep suction strong and stable.
And there was no problem getting around our home thanks to the TruePass Adaptive 4-wheel drive climbing system so it could easily cross thresholds or consecutive steps that are up to 4cm high.
In our case there was a good 2cm climb for the robot to enter our laundry and bathroom – and it did it with ease.
The Omni station is where the T90 Pro Omni robot goes to charge and to clean the mops during the cleaning session.
Inside is the clean water tank which can replenish the robot which then uploads all the dirty water to the dirty water tank onboard the station.
There’s also a disposable dust bag which is big enough to handle up to six weeks’ worth of dust before you even need to lay a finger on it.
The ECOVACS DEEBOT T90 Pro Omni is priced at $2,299.
Now that’s not cheap but when considering how much time the robot vacuum can give back to you by taking over the floor cleaning duties it will easily pay itself off.
It is available now from Harvey Norman, JB Hi-Fi, The Good Guys, Bing Lee, Retravision, ECOVACS Online and Amazon.
