Plans and pricing announced for Samsung’s Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+

The Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ will be available for pre-order tomorrow (March 31) and the Australian carriers have already released details about the new plans for the new device.

Samsung’s Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ were unveiled at the Lincoln Centre in New York boasting larger Infinity Displays, the fastest processor on a smartphone and an all-new intelligent user interface called Bixby.

And the new devices are even powerful enough to connect to monitor and keyboard and run like a desktop computer with a new feature called Samsung DeX.

Telstra, Optus and Virgin Mobile have revealed their plans for the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+.

Vodafone is expected to release its plans tomorrow.

Customers who pre-order the device will receive a free Gear VR headset with controller (valued at $199) and a $50 Oculus voucher to download VR content.

The device is officially release on April 28 but it is likely pre-order customers will receive their device on April 21 – the same day it is released in the USA and South Korea.

Here’s a look at the plans:

TELSTRA

CHEAPEST PLAN: $80 Go Mobile Swap Plan ($25 handset payment on the $55 plan) for the Samsung Galaxy S8 which includes 1GB data.

This Go Mobile Swap Plan allows customers to hand back their device in good working order and receive a new phone every 12 months.

The cheapest regular Telstra 24-month plan is $90 ($35 handset payment on the $55 plan)

a month with 1GB of data.

MOST EXPENSIVE PLAN: $195 a month ($0 handset payment on a $195 plan) with 35GB data (30GB and bonus 5GB).

BEST VALUE PLAN: Telstra has a $95 Go Mobile Swap Plan ($0 handset payment on the $95 plan) for the Samsung Galaxy S8 that comes with 12GB of data (8GB and bonus 4GB data).

OPTUS
CHEAPEST PLAN: Optus has an $82 Plan ($42 handset payment on a $40 plan) for the Samsung Galaxy S8 with 1GB of data.

MOST EXPENSIVE PLAN: $160 a month ($0 handset payment on a $160 plan) with 100GB data.

BEST VALUE PLAN: $105 a month ($5 handset payment on a $100 plan) with 15GB data.

VIRGIN MOBILE

CHEAPEST PLAN: $70 a month ($40 handset payment) for the Samsung Galaxy S8 with 500MB data.

MOST EXPENSIVE PLAN: $110 a month ($10 handset payment on a $100 plan) for the Samsung Galaxy S8+ with 20GB data.

BEST VALUE PLAN: $86 a month ($16 handset payment on a $70 plan) for the Samsung Galaxy S8 with 8GB data.

VODAFONE

CHEAPEST PLAN: $77 a month ($37 handset payment) for the Samsung Galaxy S8 with 1GB data.

MOST EXPENSIVE PLAN: $130 a month ($10 handset payment on a $125 plan) for the Samsung Galaxy S8+ with 32GB data (22GB and 10GB bonus data).

BEST VALUE PLAN: $95 a month ($5 handset payment on a $90 plan) for the Samsung Galaxy S8 with 15GB data.
