The device has two front-facing high quality speakers along with ported speakers and air channels integrated into the design to enhance bass response.
Users can download a free Thunderstorm app to extend the control of the audio and customise the sound depending on what they are listening to or watching.
The Thunderstorm fits securely around the iPad and connects through the dock connector for optimal calibration.
Also part of the product is a multi-fold cover that magnetically attaches to the device so it can provide a comfortable viewing angle and also protect the screen.
There is also pass through access to the iPad’s rear camera along with the headphone jack, microphone, speaker, charging, lock switch and volume control.
At the moment the Belkin Thunderstorm Handheld Home Theatre is only available for the iPad 2 and 3 with the 30-pin dock connector and is priced at $249.95.
The version with the smaller Lightning dock connector will be available soon.
