Apple turns store logos red to mark World AIDS Day
Apple has marked World AIDS Day in a special way – by turning the iconic logo in key stores red for the day.
The company already contributes to the global fight against AIDS with the (product) RED range which has generated more than $215m in funds globally since its inception.
Of that figure, $65m has come directly from Apple alone for the Global Fund.
Customers can contribute to the fund by purchasing one of the (product) RED items which include an iPod Touch, iPad Nano, iPod Shuffle, iPad Smart Cover or iPad Smart Case.
A portion of these purchases go towards the Global Fund to fight AIDS in Africa.
And being red they would also make great Christmas gifts this holiday period.
The Apple Stores that had their logos turned red in Australia were Sydney’s George St store, Perth City and Rundle Place in Adelaide.
