Apple releases 128GB fourth generation iPad
Apple has announced new 128GB versions of the fourth generation iPad with Retina Display with even more storage space for pictures, movies, music, apps and books.
Available from February 5 in wi-fi and wi-fi + cellular versions, the new iPad with 128GB of onboard storage will be attractive to high end and business users.
“With more than 120 million iPads sold, it’s clear that customers around the world love their iPads, and everyday they are finding more great reasons to work, learn and play on their iPads rather than their old PCs,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing.
“With twice the storage capacity and an unparalleled selection of over 300,000 native iPad apps, enterprises, educators and artists have even more reasons to use iPad for all their business and personal needs.”
There are a number of companies around the world, most of them part of the Fortune 500 and Global 500, which are using large amounts of data on their iPads.
It was this trend that convinced Apple it needed to offer even more data capacity on its full sized 9.7-inch iPad that can also connect to Australia’s high speed 4G network.
The new device has the same A6X processor as the other fourth generation iPad models as well as the smaller Lightning dock connector.
The new 128GB iPad will available from February 5 and will be priced at $869 for the wi-fi only model and $1009 for the wi-fi + cellular version.
