How many umbrellas have you left behind? They are one of the most commonly misplaced objects we own but Blunt Umbrellas has decided to do something about that.
The New Zealand company has come up with the world’s first “unloseable” umbrella.
It has partnered with successful Silicon Valley start-up Tile so the brolly can be tracked if it’s misplaced.
Tile is a small device that can be attached to keys, be inserted into a bag or wallet and attached to just about anything you’d like to find if it’s misplaced or stolen.
With Tile attached to the Blunt umbrella, owners can use the Tile companion app to locate it within a 15-30m range or, if it’s out of that range, establish a last seen location.
Blunt is named after the fact that there are no points on the edges on the fully-tensioned canopy. The company also claims it is the strongest umbrella in the world.
The Blunt + Tile umbrella will be available in a limited edition black trim design and in three colour accents.
They will be priced at $99 for XS Metro and $124 for the Classic and will be released next month.
Blunt + Tile umbrellas can be ordered from www.bluntumbrellas.com.au.
