Ring has announced a powerful new AI feature which gives users the ability to quickly search and find specific videos captured by their doorbells and cameras.
Smart Video Search Is an advanced AI feature powered by Ring IQ which uses Visual Language Modelling (VLM) to match text to images and quickly display the result.
For example, instead of scrolling through endless amounts of footage to find the video of your garbage bins being knocked over, the possum in your backyard, the stray dog in your driveway or to find out who ate your food – you simply search for what you’re looking for.
Users can type their search into the Ring app and Smart Video Search will find the right moment in seconds.
“You’re likely already familiar with our package, person, and motion alerts which help you manage what’s happening at your front door or find out when a package arrived, but historically, finding a specific moment can take more time than you might have,” said Mark Fletcher, Managing Director – APAC, Ring.
“With Smart Video Search, you can now quickly find something you’re looking for – and even some surprising moments – giving you a better sense of what’s happening around your home.”
With Smart Video Search, customers can keep better track of the important things in their life like their family, pets, their home and the local environment.
Smart Video Search will be available in Australia and New Zealand from today as a public beta with customers able to search for animals, locations, packages, people, time, vehicles and weather along with the activities like jumping or running.
Smart Video Search will work with all Ring video doorbells and cameras and is available to Australian and New Zealand customers who are subscribed to Ring’s Home Premium plan which is available for $29.95 per month or $299.95 per year.
