Oppo has unveiled its new A78 5G smartphone which includes 33W SUPERVOOC fast charging and a 50-megapixel main camera with a price tag well under $400.

This entry level device, priced at $359, is packed with features including a 6.56-inch colour rich display with 90Hz refresh rate, dual stereo speakers and a 5000mAh battery.

“The A78 5G is Oppo’s latest entry-level game changer. We’ve designed a device that seamlessly combines cutting-edge hardware and software to provide Australians with a phone that’s as reliable as it is stylish,” says Oppo Australia’s Managing Director, Michael Tran.

“With 33W SUPERVOOC, 50MP camera, and ColorOS 13, the A78 5G is not only economical but also feature-rich.

At Oppo, we believe that technology should be accessible to all, and the A78 5G is our latest contribution to that mission.”

On the design side, the device features polished rings around the camera module and shining lights which create a sense of sparkling light beams.

Oppo has also applied its Glow process to the back plate to create a fingerprint free matte finish.

It is just 7.9mm thick and weighs only 188g and is available in Glowing Black and Glowing Blue.

The Oppo A78 5G has a 50-megapixel main camera as well as a 2-megapixel self-portrait lens and an 8-megapixel front camera.

On board the device is a feature called Ultra Clear Image which uses algorithms to upscale the resolution of your photos to 108-megapixel and provide a new level of clarity.

The A78 5G can also help you take great images with features like AI Portrait Retouching, AI Scene Enhancement and Ultra-Night Mode.

The device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 700 platform and an octa-core processor for powerful 5G performance.

It has 4GB RAM and 128GB ROM and supports up to 1TB SD card expansion.

The new smartphone has a large 5000mAh battery which, thanks to the 33W SUPERVOOC flash charge, can be charged to 100 per cent in just 67 minutes.

Also on board the device is the All-Day AI Power Saving features which manages your battery performance to offer overall longer battery life.

A Super Power Saving mode can also save battery for emergency needs while Super Night Standby can get to know your sleep habits and limit power consumption to just 2 per cent during the night.

The Oppo A78 5G is priced at $359 and is available now from Optus, JB Hi-Fi, Big W, Officeworks, The Good Guys and Bing Lee.
