Nokia has launched G22 smartphone – hailed by Time Magazine as “one of the best inventions of 2023” for its self-repair functionality – in 2024’s colour of the year: peach.
Available in So Peach from February 15 for $349, the Nokia G22 leads the way in the “fix it yourself” trend which has shifted consumer purchase patterns around the world.
The Nokia G22 is already available in lagoon blue and meteor grey – and it also comes with a silicone case so you can protect the device.
The G22 hit the headlines in 2023 because the device is designed to be repairable by the customer.
Nokia has collaborated with iFixit.com, a global repair community, which will allow customers to access repair guides and affordable spare parts like displays, charging ports and batteries.
“We are so happy that our efforts to bring repairability to every price point are being recognised by consumers, and even Time Magazine,” says HMD VP of Design, Raun Forsyth.
“Designing what our fans want has to be the winning strategy here.
“Scroll through any feed right now and peach is trending – from how to wear peach, to how to make peach, and now you can dial in peach with a super affordable, stunning and repairable smartphone.
“A good phone shouldn’t cost the planet or empty your pocket.”
The Nokia G22 has a 6.52-inch display and a triple camera system – 50-megapixel main camera, 2-megapixel depth camera and a 2-megapixel macro camera. There is also an 8-megapixel front-facing camera.
There are a number of shooting modes so you can capture memorable moments day or night.
The device has an on board 5000mAh battery which Nokia says can last up to three days between charges.
The battery can hold more than 80 per cent of its original capacity even after 800 full charging cycles.
But the beauty of the G22 is you can swap out the battery for a new one so it will be as good as new.
And on the design side, the Nokia G22 punches above its weight with a sleek and elegant look that many would think belongs in the premium category.
The Nokia G22 also comes with a three year warranty as standard.
The Nokia G22 so Peach will be available on February 15 and will be priced at $349 at JB Hi-Fi, Big W, Harvey Norman (online), Officeworks (online), Yes Distribution, Amazon and TVSN.
