Alcatel has revealed a new 8-inch family-friendly Android tablet running the latest Oreo operating system at the IFA tech trade show in Berlin.
The Alcatel 3T 8, which will be priced at less than $130 when it is released in Australia, has a slim and lightweight design along with 4G connectivity and a powerful battery.
The device weighs in at just 279g and is only 8.2mm thick and will be available in Metallic Black or Suede Blue matte finish.
Alcatel’s 3T 8 is designed for work and play and can be paired with a Bluetooth keyboard to increase your productivity.
But it also made for family user and has Kids Mode which allows parents to control the content seen on the device along with screen time and Eye Care mode which reduces blue light output to reduce eye strain.
The tablet will also ship with a bumper case which is made of non-slip material and has child-size grips.
The Alcatel 3T 8 is also running the Android Oreo (Go edition) operating system which is optimised to increase the performance of affordable tablets like this one.
Onboard is Google Maps and Gmail and the Google Play Store which has third party apps like Facebook and Skype.
“The need for an all-around tablet that can bridge the work-life divide while remaining in reach of everyone is clear,” said Stefan Streit, General Manager of Global Marketing at TCL Communication.
“Alcatel 3T 8 takes in-demand features and puts them into a premium tablet that’s accessible to all.”
The Alcatel 3T 8 will be priced below $130 and will be released in Australia in the coming weeks.
