Virgin Mobile has introduced a new affordable 4G mobile broadband service on a 12-month plan to provide high-speed internet access on the move.
It will be priced at $59 a month with 13GB of included data on a 12-month contract.
At this price, and with a generous data allowance, the Virgin Mobile plan would compete with some household fixed broadband plans.
Virgin Mobile utilises the Optus network and this 4G service will be available in Sydney, Newcastle, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth with Hobart to follow later this year.
The Optus 4G network already covers these areas and provides coverage for faster download and upload speeds.
Users have the option of bringing their own 4G device or can obtain a microSIM to use with a tablet.
For $0 upfront on the $59 12-month plan users can also choose to include the Huawei E5776 Wi-Fi 4G modem which can connect up to 10 devices wirelessly to the Virgin Mobile 4G connection.
You can purchase the plan from any Virgin Mobile store or online here.
