Samsung launches The Freestyle – a projector you can take anywhere to enjoy your content
Samsung has unveiled a new portable projector called The Freestyle at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas so viewers can enjoy their content in high quality anywhere.
The tiny projector has a cylindrical shape and compact design and looks more like a spotlight then a full high-definition projector.
It is possible to beam a 100-inch picture onto the wall or ceiling in 1080p resolution from 2.7m away.
And because of its design, it’s easy to rotate The Freestyle and aim it wherever you’d like to see your content.
And there’s also no fiddling around with controls thanks to the Full Auto Keystone and Auto Levelling features which means you get a sharp straight image in seconds no matter where you aim the projector.
The Freestyle also has speakers on board with the dual passive radiator, so you get impressive 360-degree sound and nice clean bass.
“The Freestyle is an innovative compact projector that will allow you to take your entertainment to new heights. Australians love to try new experiences and now you can bring up to 100-inches of your favourite content to almost any room or even outdoors, perfect for those who love camping or setting-up movie night in the backyard,” says Jeremy Senior, Vice President of Consumer Electronics at Samsung Electronics Australia.
“Through creative innovation, The Freestyle is a fun, versatile and light-weight portable projector that is easy to set-up and includes Samsung’s Smart TV experience.
“All your favourite apps and streaming services are ready to be enjoyed anywhere, anytime.”
The Freestyle can run off mains power but is also compatible with powerbanks that support USB-PD and 50W/20V output or above so you can take it anywhere – even on your next camping trip.
And when it’s not being used to stream content, The Freestyle can also be used to create mood lighting thanks to its ambient mode and a translucent lens cap.
On top of that, the device is also a smart speaker and can create visual effects and project them a wall to move in time with your music.
The Freestyle has Bluetooth onboard and can wirelessly connect with Android and iOS mobile devices to mirror your content through the projector.
It’s also possible to connect your sources like a Blu ray player or gaming console through the onboard mini-HDMI port.
The Freestyle has the same operating system and user interface as Samsung’s smart TVs so you can easily connect to your favourite streaming services and other content.
The freestyle will be available to pre-order in Australia on January 17 and will be priced at $1499 when it goes on sale in February.
