Uniden’s wire-free security cameras are now compatible with Google Assistant which will allow users to view their security camera footage using voice control.
It is now possible for users to stream video from their security camera to their smart display or to a TV equipped with Chromecast or a Chromecast dongle.
“The increasing demand for voice control enabled products is on the rise,” says Brad Hales, national marketing and communications manager, Uniden.
“Uniden wants to offer consumers the ability to manage their home security cameras using voice control while integrating with other products around the home.
“Integrating the Uniden security range with the Google Assistant will keep our products competitive within the surveillance category and provides consumers with more flexibility when viewing footage around the home.”
Now users will be able to say “Hey Google – stream the front door on my TV”.
And with Google Assistant onboard, Uniden security cameras will be able to be integrated with other smart home Google Assistant-compatible products to create scenarios and set-ups to display the camera streams at designated times.

Footage from the Uniden cameras can be viewed remotely via the dedicated Uniden app.
Captured footage is stored on the device’s microSD card or a hard drive along with the Uniden Cloud.
Google Assistant is now available on the Uniden App Cam 55, App Cam 56, XLight and GXVR models.
It will become available on other products in the Uniden range in the coming months.
