Leading global wearables brand Fitbit has unveiled its latest device – the Fitbit Charge 3 – which has an all-new water resistant design and a brighter and larger touchscreen display.
Fitbit Charge 3 includes the company’s most advanced sensor and algorithm technology ever used in a health tracker.
There will be more than 15 goal-based exercise modes to track your fitness as well as a battery that can last for up to seven days.
Priced at $229.95 and available in November 2018, Fitbit Charge 3 builds on the success of the company’s previous product line up which has sold more than 35 million units worldwide to date.
“Charge 3 gives existing users a compelling reason to upgrade, while also allowing us to reach new users who want a more sleek, affordable wearable in a tracker form factor,” said James Park, co-founder and CEO of Fitbit.
“Our commitment to consumer choice and ability to meet the demand of millions of users by offering a range of products, from trackers to smartwatches, enables us to continue to expand our share of the overall wearables market.”
Fitbit Charge 3 is made from lightweight yet durable materials and includes an aerospace grade aluminium case and a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 touchscreen display that is 40 per cent larger and brighter than the previous model.
It has a slimmer design yet added durability and provides an even more comfortable fit for both men and women.
The strength of Fitbit devices is its health and fitness features and they have been upgraded with the Charge 3.
The wearable will have exercise modes like bike, swim, run, weights and yoga with users able to set a goal for calories burned, distance or duration and see stats in real-time.
Fitbit Charge 3 is water resistant to a depth of 50 m so you can wear it in the pool in the shower and in the ocean.
In Swim Mode you can even see your laps and pace in the Fitbit app after your swim.
For female customers, the device will also gain an understanding of your menstrual cycle by using the Fitbit app to log your period and ovulation.
Fitbit Charge 3 will also provide even more personalised insights about your activity, your heart rate, nutrition and your sleep.
It will also be right there to give you reminders to move as well as guiding you through relaxation breathing and accurately tracking your sleep.
The product is also a smart device and can provide notifications of calls, calendar entries, messages and notifications from apps like Facebook and Uber.
Users can also make secure payments through the device with the Fitbit Pay contactless payment system.
Fitbit Charge 3 can be paired with Android and iOS devices.
It will be available in black with a graphite aluminium case or blue grey with a rose gold aluminium case.
Fitbit Charge 3 will be priced at $229.95 and will go on sale in Australia in November.
