Apple has announced it will be offering extra trade in credit when customers trade in eligible iPhones to purchase a new eligible Apple device.
The end of the financial year a few weeks away and there are a lot of people walking around not realising their iPhone another tech products could be worth hundreds of dollars.
Research from Kantar revealed at 48 per cent of Australian iPhone users who purchased their phone in the last three months up to December 2023 did nothing with their old device.
This compares to 32 per cent of customers in the UK.
But the trend of trading old devices is continuing to grow which is increasing the refurbished market around the world.
Many customers are realising the devices are worth money and can be traded in on a new model just like we do with our cars.
Apple will give customers up to $120 in extra credit when they trade in an eligible iPhone – that’s the iPhone 7 plus or higher – when they purchase a new eligible Apple device for a total credit that could be as high as $1210.
So what is your iPhone worth?
A customer with a five and half year old iPhone X could still receive up to $185 on a trade in.
An iPhone 14 Pro Max will get you up to $1210 dollars off a new iPhone if used as a trade in.
This is a way customers can make the cost of their new iPhone even lower whether they trade in online or at an Apple Store.
These extra trading credits for iPhone trade-ins will be available till June 3.
Customers may also have the option to save their trade in value to use later with a store credit via an Apple Gift Card which could be used anytime when shopping for Apple products and services.
