Telstra has transformed its live sports streaming offer by joining forces with Kayo Sports to give customers even more value and more sports to enjoy on their smartphones and at home.
Kayo will replace Telstra Live Pass in the AFL and NRL apps and give fans the ability to watch every AFL and every NFL match of every round live and ad-break free.
And Telstra also has an exclusive offer for those who had previously used the AFL and NRL Live Passes with eligible customers receiving $20 a month off Kayo’s basic subscription (usually $25) which brings the price down to just $5 a month for 12 months.
This offer means Telstra Live Pass customers can not only watch every NRL and AFL game of every round including the final series, but also 50 premier local and international sports live and on-demand across multiple devices and screens.
All other Telstra customers will also be able to access a special offer of $10 a month off Kayo Sport’s basic subscription for 12 months so they will only pay $15 a month for the service.
“We laid the foundation for sports streaming in Australia with Live Pass back in 2012. Today, video streaming of content is everywhere,” said Telstra CEO Andy Penn.

“How and where viewers consume their content and their expectations have changed greatly in this time.
“We have always been committed to delivering fans the best experience possible across our range of products and services, and sports is a key part of our strategy and offering.
“While Live Pass has provided a great experience for our customers over time, Kayo has quickly become the premium sports streaming service in Australia, and we’re excited to provide this exclusive offer to our customers, giving them the chance to watch a wider range of sports on their choice of screen.
“We’re proud to support the AFL and NRL and will continue working with them and our other partners to leverage the latest innovation and technology to offer their fans and our customers the best entertainment experience possible at the game, at home, on the bus, or anywhere our network takes you.”
Telstra Live Pass has been giving customers access to live sport on the move and gave Australian sports lovers the ability to not miss a minute of their favourite sports.
Last year the number of subscribers has passed three million and they streamed hundreds of millions of minutes of action every year.
The NRL Live app and AFL Live app will continue to be powered by Telstra in 2021 and will still offer match replays, live scores, highlights, stats and much more.
Patrick Delany, Foxtel Group CEO said: “We have a great long-term relationship with Telstra and as our company’s strategies evolve, we are finding new ways to work together.
“We have created a great product in Kayo, streaming 50 sports live including the AFL and NRL action, it’s exciting for Kayo to be endorsed for Live Pass customers by Telstra.”
