Apple has today released the Apple TV app on the Google Play Store so Android users can watch Apple original series and movies on their smartphones, foldables and tablets.
Android users will also have access to the MLS (Major League Soccer) Season pass.
Apple has built the Apple TV app for Android from scratch to deliver a familiar interface and intuitive features.
Android users can subscribe to Apple TV+ and MLS Season Pass using their Google Play store account on their Android mobile or Google TV devices after a free seven-day trial.
Apple TV+ is $12.99 per month and automatically renews until cancelled.
The new Android Apple TV app will include the ability to continue watching a TV program or movie even if it was started on an Apple device.
The new Android app also includes watchlist so viewers can keep a list of shows they want to watch in the future.
Naturally, the app allows users to stream content over wi-fi or a cellular connection and makes it possible to download to watch programs offline.
Android users now have access exclusive to Apple TV+ programs on their device like Severance, The Morning Show, Presumed Innocent, Shrinking, Hijack, Ted Lasso and much more.
And with the Major League Soccer 2025 season kicking off on February 22, 2025, Android users can now subscribe to MLS Season Pass which is available through the Apple TV app.
The subscription service gives fans the chance to watch every MLS game in one location with no blackouts along with exclusive content, in-depth coverage and analysis.
Apple TV+ subscribers can also watch Friday Night Baseball – a weekly Major League Baseball doubleheader along with Sunday Night Soccer, a weekly prime time standalone game showcasing Major League Soccer’s biggest matchups.
Apple TV+ launched on November 1, 2019.
To date, Apple’s original films, documentaries and series have received 538 awards and 2553 nominations.
These include the multi-Emmy award-winning comedy Ted Lasso and Academy Award Best Picture winner CODA.
