Harvey Norman partners with Shippit to offer three-hour deliveries

Express delivery service Shippit has announced a partnership with leading retailer Harvey Norman that means you can get your online order delivered in as little as three hours.

When we order something online we want it as quickly as possible and we want to be around when the delivery is being made.

That’s a reality with Shippit with this express delivery service offered for small appliances, consumer electronics – including TVs and small goods.

This “Uber for deliveries” service offers stores like Harvey Norman the flexibility to offer customers a choice of when and where to receive their purchased products.

Shippit offers customers the ability to reschedule or reroute a delivery to an alternative address and the option to receive their items as late as 10pm.

Shippit’s three-hour delivery service is powered by Bonds Couriers, one of Australia’s largest and fastest transport companies.

“Our experience from working with hundreds of retailers across Australia is that our service really is one-of-a-kind. In the case of Harvey Norman, what appealed most was the stand-out shipping experience our platform could offer their customers,” says Shippit joint-CEO Rob Hango-Zada.

“We also worked with the retail giant to co-develop a ship-from-store dispatch process that literally strips hours of wasted time from the whole shipping process for store staff.

“By partnering with Shippit, in addition to booking standard deliveries through Australia Post, Harvey Norman can now offer smart extras like national three-hour delivery scheduling, live GPS delivery tracking, and progress notifications that only a unique startup like Shippit can offer.”

Shippit was launched in February 2015 and has experience 50 per cent growth month on month and has since signed up some of Australia’s leading couriers including Bonds Couriers, CouriersPlease, TNT, Mail Call Couriers and Fastway Couriers.

The company has already formed partnerships with various other stores to expedite the shipping of their products to their customers.

Customers can sign up to Shippit and track their parcels in real time with live GPS through the website or via SMS and email alerts.

Users can also see the cost of the service which is determined by your location, the requested delivery speed and the time of the day.

“Providing a seamless purchase experience for our customers is critical. We introduced Click & Collect in 2012 to make it easier for customers to get the items they bought online, from their local Harvey Norman store,” said Gary Wheelhouse, Chief Digital Officer for Harvey Norman.

“By using those same stores, we can now offer even greater flexibility and improved customer service with our new scheduled, same day delivery option.

“We have looked to smart software to help overcome this challenge and the despatch system that Shippit has developed takes our operations into consideration, making it frictionless for our franchisees’ store staff to send out products for same day delivery.”
