Canon Australia opens its first-ever flagship experience store
Photography enthusiasts will be happy to learn that Canon Australia has opened its very first flagship store to cater for all types of customers – from beginners to professionals.
The Canon Experience Store is located in South Melbourne and is one of the first destinations of its kind for the brand globally.
It occupies 320 square metres and will be a one-stop shop for your photography and video needs.
Visitors will be able to try and buy a range of Canon products as well as troubleshoot any issues they might be having.
It will also be a place where photographers can learn new skills and access a range of activities run by the Canon Collective.
Canon’s highly experienced ambassadors will impart their wisdom and experience and support every visitor who comes into the store to improve their photography.
The Canon Collective will host weekly activities including beginners’ guides to photography, photo excursions and photo printing workshops.
The Camera Service counter will also be open to any customers who are having issues with their Canon devices no matter where they were purchased.
Customers will also find printing facilities in the store to create pocket sized images or large format prints.
“Our objective was to create the best consumer experience possible. We had no preconceived ideas and deliberately looked to challenge established ways of thinking that become experience barriers,” says Jason McLean, director of Canon Australia’s consumer imaging division.
“The result is a space that is welcoming to all, provides unrestricted access to our gear and encourages an exploration of photography, videography and print in a way that’s relevant to you as an individual.”
The Canon Experience Store will be managed by Chris Siacolas, a Canon employee of 18 years, who is looking forward to introducing people to the world of photography and video.
“Photos and videos are at the heart of how we communicate today, but we’ve just scratched the surface in helping people understand what they can achieve,” he said.
“In a typical retail environment, you wait to have devices unlocked and have very limited ability to trial them.
“At our Experience Store, you’re able to play, test and explore with guidance from our in-store Ambassadors, based solely on what you want to achieve.”
“By showing not telling, and inspiring before selling, we aim to encourage many more people to see the world of opportunities that open up with Canon products and services.”
