Samsung’s new Portable X5 drive can transfer a 20GB file in 12 seconds
Samsung has released a new portable SSD (solid-state drive) – the Samsung Portable SSD X5 – which achieves exceptional speeds reading and writing data, making it an ideal storage solution for content creators on the go.
It is Samsung’s first NVMe-based portable solid-state drive that has a compact and rugged form factor.
Users moving large files like 4K videos and real-time 3D rendered images now have a fast and convenient way to store and transfer their data.
Leveraging NVMe and Thunderbolt 3 technologies, the Samsung X5 is four times faster than USB 3.1 with read speeds of up to 2,800MB per second.
It also has fast write speeds as well of up to 2,300MB per second which will allow users to transfer a 20GB-sized 4K UHD video in just 12 seconds.

The Samsung X5 is designed to work with both Macs and PCs with Thunderbolt 3 ports and allow users to enjoy the superfast drive and it’s lightweight and portable design.
The ex-wives also provides powerful data protection with AES 256-bit hardware data encryption along with optional password protection.
The Samsung X5 comes with a three-year limited warranty and will be available from September 3 starting at $399.99 (500GB), $699.99 (1TB) and $1,399.99 (2TB).
