Epson has just unveiled two new heat-free EcoTank multi-function cartridge-free photo printers which come with enough ink to last up to two years.
Perfect for amateur photographers, the wireless Epson EcoTank Photo ET-8500 and ET-8550 printers use six-colour Epson Claria ET premium inks which can print up to 2,300 high quality colour photos, 6,200 pages in colour or 6,700 pages in black and white with the ink that’s included with the printers.
That’s the equivalent of about 185 individual ink cartridges.
These products are the latest in Epson’s award-winning line up of cartridge-free refillable ink tank printers.
This year Epson saw global sales reach 50 million units.
These printers feature Epson’s patented Micro Piezo Heat-Free technology so you can take advantage of high speed photo printing with a huge reduction in energy consumption and less need for replacement parts which saves time and money and the planet at the same time.
Being photo printers there are six ink tanks (the regular Epson EcoTank printers have four tanks) for the Epson Claria ET premium ink so you can produce high quality prints and borderless photos up to A4 size with the ET-8500 and to A3+ with the ET-8550.
The photo black and photo grey ink makes it possible to achieve detailed and high contrast black and white photos while the pigment black ink offers sharp and clear text when printing documents.
So these new Epson EcoTanks printers are versatile and can handle any printing task you have.
“These printers are great news for photographers, creative enthusiasts and the environment,” says Epson Australia MD, Craig Heckenberg.
“They are our first heat-free, multi-function, EcoTank Photo printers to feature six colour Claria ET Premium Ink for delivering high quality photos, arts and crafts on a wide range of media.
“The low running costs and flexible convenience of cartridge-free printing make it ideal for everyday document printing the whole family can enjoy.
“The fact that they are heat-free means they use far less power than laser printers and are far better for the planet as a result.”
Amateur photographers will appreciate the flexible media-handling capabilities which includes five paper feeds.
It’s also possible to print directly on CDs and DVDs with A4 photo paper able to be stored in the two front trays.
The rear trays allows you to print on other media like craft papers and cards and even up to A3+ size with the ET-8550.
The ET-8500 and ET-8550 can print from SD cards and USB flash drives through the large 4.3-inch colour touchscreen.
They also have full wi-fi connectivity so they can easily be integrated into your home network.
The EcoTank ET-8500 and ET-8550 are available now from www.epson.com.au and are priced at $999.00 and $1149.00 respectively.
