Is this Apple’s redesigned iPad Pro
Is this the new iPad Pro? Supposed leaked images of the device have surfaced and show an all-new design that reflects the buttonless look of the iPhone X.
High resolution renders from the tech blog MySmartPrice, based on leaked CAD images, show a redesigned iPad Pro with a screen that goes from edge to edge and top to bottom.
There is no home button and also no notch to be seen in the design.
Without a home button we can only assume there will be Face ID included to unlock the device.
Rumours suggest Apple are working on two new iPad Pro models – an 11-inch alongside a 12.9-inch version.
From the images, the new iPad Pro will have a more angular look, similar to that of the iPhone 4, with straight chamfered edges.
The images also show antenna strips along the top and bottom edges of the rear panel.
But what’s not in any of these images is a headphone jack which leads us to believe the new iPad Pro will follow the path of the latest iPhones and remove it.
The Smart Connector, located on the edge of the current iPad Pro, also appears to have moved to the bottom of the rear panel according to these pictures.
This means smart keyboards and other charging accessories will link to the device while it is in this portrait mode.
One suggestion for this move is to allow the Face ID to work because the camera will be located at the top of the screen while in portrait mode.
Apple has confirmed it will be holding a launch event next week (3am September 13, Sydney time) where we are likely to see three new iPhones.
It’s also possible the new iPad Pro will be part of the announcement.
