Amazon will begin selling refurbished products at lower prices under its new Amazon Renewed program which will include popular tech products like smartphones and computers.
Customers will now be able to look for “like new” products which have been inspected and tested by qualified suppliers.
The wide range will include phones, computers, tablets and audio products including headphones and wireless speakers.
Products also come from some of the most well-known brands including Apple, Samsung, Microsoft, Lenovo, HP and Dell.
Any product purchased from Amazon Renewed will also come with a six-month partner-backed warranty.
“Renewed provides Australian customers with great discounts on good as new products, paired with the reassurance of a six month warranty, and the convenience of having it delivered to their door,” says Matt Furlong, country manager of Amazon Australia.
“Aussie shoppers are savvy and we hope that Renewed gives them another way to get the products they want for an even better price.”
Refurbished products are clearly marked as “Renewed” Amazon Australia store and show next to no signs of wear and tear.
Part of the refurbishment process includes a full diagnostic test, replacement of any defective parts as well as a thorough cleaning and inspection process before being repackaged.
Russell Lornie, Director of Alegre PTY LTD, trading as Green Gadgets Australia, a selling partner on Amazon Australia says: “We know customers are not only looking to make a saving but also to reduce their environmental impact by buying refurbished products.
“We look forward to getting our products to even more customers across Australia by making them available on Amazon.
“What excites us most about Amazon Australia is not only the reach but the fact that they set the bar high for product quality, shipping and customer service and this aligns perfectly with our company’s approach.”
