D-Link’s new Covr Wi-Fi system creates a fast wireless network across your entire home

D-Link has just released its new Covr Wi-Fi system in Australia which can provide a mesh network for faster speeds and greater wireless coverage in your home.

The Covr Wi-Fi system is a sleek and intelligent solution which can meet the needs of the modern household.

It allow users to enjoy a consistent connection whether they are streaming, browsing or gaming.

Covr also provides an MU-MIMO (multiple user, multiple input, multiple output) network – the technology that enables multiple connections and multiple streams at the same time.

The product, which is made up of three base stations which can be placed around your home, has been designed to blend into your décor.

Covr can provide coverage for up to 465 square metres through its pre-paired points and achieve speeds of up to 1200Mbps.

“If you want seamless Wi-Fi all around your home, then look no further than Covr,” says D-Link ANZ managing director Graeme Reardon.

“Easy to install, yet brimming with smarts inside, this clever solution gives users a Multi-User MIMO (MU-MIMO) mesh networking solution, making streaming on multiple devices all around the home a breeze.”

Each of the three units also have two on-board Gigabit Ethernet ports for wired connectivity where it is needed like nearby smart TVs and gaming consoles.

Also on board is Smart Roaming technology which continuously scans the wireless signal strength and automatically connects your devices to the strongest signal available.

This means you can walk from room to room with your devices while still streaming your favourite content.

The system also creates a single Wi-Fi network name (SSID) to make it less confusing for users.

And because the stations are all pre-paired they connect right out of the box so set up is a breeze.

Covr connects to your existing modem and users can be guided through the set up using the D-Link Wi-Fi app.

D-Link’s Covr Wi-Fi system is available now and is priced at $449.95.

Stay tuned to Tech Guide for a full review of the D-Link Covr Wi-Fi system in the next few days.

Any advantages / disadvantages and comparisons between the Covr mesh system and the Google mesh offering?
