NRL and AFL seasons about to kick off in glorious 4K on Foxtel

The 2019 NRL and AFL seasons are about to kick off the and for the first time you will be able to enjoy them in brilliant 4K on Foxtel’s Ultra HD channel.

Matches will air live in 4K and with no ad breaks during play.

Selected match ups in the NRL and AFL along with Super Rugby and women’s football will also be getting the 4K treatment.

This comes after Foxtel’s successful 4K summer of sport which kicked off with the Supercars in Bathurst and continued with Australia’s first ever 4K cricket broadcasts.

Foxtel will broadcast more than 40 NRL games and more than 40 AFL matches in 4K Ultra HD.

The 4K NRL season kicks off on March 15 with the Newcastle Knights taking on the Cronulla Sharks and continues on March 22 with the Canberra Raiders playing the Melbourne Storm.

It appears Foxtel’s 4K NRL matches are likely to be the games it broadcasts exclusively and not the matches it shares with Channel 9.

In the AFL first 4K match will be broadcast on March 23 with Melbourne taking on Port Adelaide at the MCG followed by St Kilda and the Gold Coast Suns on March 24.

Other 4K sport will include select Wallabies games and the Hyundai A-League Grand Final.
