The Netgear Nighthawk RS600 tri-band Wi-Fi 7 router brings high speeds at a more affordable price and can meet the demands of your household for flawless streaming, connection for lots of smart home devices and online gaming.

It’s not just speed we’re after with our home wi-fi – we’re also after consistency and range which is exactly what the Netgear Nighthawk RS600 tri-band Wi-Fi 7 router delivers.
Wi-Fi 7 is the latest standard that is faster and more robust than the previous Wi-Fi 6E standard.
The Netgear Nighthawk RS600 has a sleek, attractive design with small footprint so it doesn’t take up much space.
The RS600 connects to your existing modem and is easy to set up through the Nighthawk app which takes you step by step through the whole process from connecting the cables and power all the way through to renaming the network and changing the default password.
In our case we changed the network name to MaceWindu – keeping with our tradition of naming our networks after Star Wars characters – and changed the password.
In the Nighthawk app you can see what devices are connected to your network, you can test the speed of your connection, access parental controls (you have to pay for the full version) and set up a guest wi-fi network.
The unit has indicator lights on the front panel that show that RS600 is turned on and connected to the internet along with the status of the three bands – 2.4Ghz, 5Ghz and 6Ghz.
On the back are four 10G Ethernet ports to physically connect nearby devices like gaming consoles and smart TVs and the main 10G Ethernet port that connects to your modem.
And it offers up to 250 square metres of solid wi-fi coverage so it’s designed for a normal home or an apartment.
The Nighthawk is designed for gamers who want high-speed wi-fi for their online gaming, for viewers who want to stream 4K content with no buffering and to connect multiple devices including smart home products.

The Nighthawk RS600 can handle up to 150 connected devices at the same time.
At our place we have fibre to the premises and a 1Gbps plan through Aussie Broadband so our expectations were very high for the RS600 to deliver those sorts of speeds.

And we were pleasantly surprised to find our smartphones and laptops were connected at high speeds.
Our MacBook Pro with M4 was clocked at 816Mbps – this would have been faster if the laptop had Wi-Fi 7.
The iPhone 16 Pro Max and Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra are Wi-Fi 7 devices and they came in at 948Mbps and 941Mbps respectively and you can see that added speed.

So with these speeds you’re also streaming flawlessly and staying very competitive while playing your online games.
Customers with larger, two and three storey homes would probably be best suited to one of Netgear’s Orbi Mesh systems to ensure high speeds in every corner of every level.
And in the future if we decide to get an even faster home connection, the RS600 will be able to handle it. In fact, can handle speeds of up to 18Gbps.
The Netgear Nighthawk RS600 also comes with a trial of Netgear Armor which is powered by AI and offer real time alerts when threats are detected and blocked.
This is an affordable Wi-Fi 7 router that is easy to set up and connect you at high speed.
But it doesn’t have QoS (quality of service) – this can be found on more expensive Netgear products – which allows users to prioritise bandwidth for gaming and streaming.
But it still does a great job assigning the available bandwidth and offering a superior connection anyway.
The Netgear Nighthawk RS600 tri-band Wi-Fi 7 router is available now and is priced at $799.
