Canon PIXMA Endurance G4600 printer review – never buy a new ink cartridge again

One of the biggest frustrations with any inkjet printer is the constant need to replace expensive ink cartridges but that’s not an issue with the new Canon PIXMA Endurance G4600 printer.

It always seems to happen that whenever you need something printed – you’re out of ink and need to dash to the store.

This is particularly true in a household with students or in an office where a lot of stuff needs to be printed.

It’s not uncommon to see printers priced for less than $50 but when it’s time to replace the ink the total cost is more than the printer itself.

With the PIXMA Endurance G4600, you get four integrated ink tanks that you fill with the included four ink bottles which will last months if not years before you need more ink.

Out-of-the-box the Canon printer comes with enough ink to print up to 7000 colour pages and 6000 black-and-white pages on A4 paper.

Unlike most other printers on the market, the G4600 can be refilled simply by purchasing more ink bottles rather than replacing entire ink cartridges which include the printer head.

This is the equivalent of replacing your car’s engine every time you need an oil change.

With this Canon printer, all you need to change is the oil – or in this case, just the ink.
The G4600 is a multifunction printer that can print, copy and scan through a connected computer or via wi-fi or through the cloud.

The printer is 44.5cm wide 33cm long and 19.7cm tall and has a fairly small footprint so it won’t hog too much desk space.

Unpacking the printer and setting it up is a fairly painless process that is clearly outlined in step-by-step instructions.

Part of the set-up is filling the ink wells with the supplied ink bottles along with installing the two printer heads.

But once you get this is out of the way, you will be printing in no time.

The printer has a two-line LCD screen which lets you access all the features with ease and handle all your printing tasks.

The Canon printer has a hybrid system of pigment and dye inks so the quality is unmistakable.

But it will come to life again when it’s time to print so you can maintain your efficiency and save energy at the same time.
