The Pure Evoke F3 is a feature-packed device that gives listeners so many options. It also sounds pretty good as well thanks to Pure audio engineering.
There is no shortage of speakers and digital radios on the market but there would be few that could match the features you’ll find on the Pure Evoke F3 which is an internet radio, digital radio, FM radio and also a Bluetooth speaker.
This versatile products puts a whole world of radio stations at your fingertips as well as easy access to favourite Australian stations.
And, with Bluetooth on board, you can also enjoy your own music.
It‘s even better if you have a Spotify account thanks to Spotify Connect which gives you access to millions of tracks through the Evoke F9 by using the Spotify app on your smartphone.
The device is a fairly compact unit that’s less than 20cm wide, 11cm high and 11.8cm deep so it’s got a really small footprint.
On the front there’s a small colour screen that shows the icons of the features and modes at the user’s fingertips.
Below the display is the volume/select dial and navigation buttons on either side.
The DAB, DAB+ and FM radio brings allows users to listen to their favourite stations in great quality.
But if you want to expand your horizons and listen to of more than 25,000 stations from around the world you can through the Evoke F3’s internet radio.
You can explore either by territory, subject or genre and find interesting stations every step of the way.
Our favourites were the US radio stations playing 80s music but there are literally tens of thousands of other stations to choose from.
And the good news is you can save up to 30 favourites across DAB, FM and internet radio stations instead of having to find them each time.
There is also Bluetooth which means you can stream your own tunes to the Evoke F3 instead of listening to the radio.
And being a Pure product the sound quality is impressive whether you’re listening to music, talkback radio, a podcast or an audiobook.
You can also connect your device physically with a cable to the AUX IN port if Bluetooth isn’t your thing or if your audio device doesn’t have Bluetooth like our original iPod that still works.
Now what you’re not going to find with the Evoke is Google Assistant or Alexa.
This is not a smart speaker but it’s still pretty impressive.
You might not be able to command the Evoke F3 with your voice but what still makes it a breeze to operate is the remote which gives you complete control from across the room.
There is also the companion app – Pure Select – which lets you control the device and sift through all the radio stations as well.
But we found the app was a little difficult to connect and really only worked some of the time.
The Evoke F3 can also be used as an alarm so you can wake up to your favourite station.
And there’s also sleep time so the device can shut down all by itself if you nod off.
