Apple releases major updates for iWork productivity applications

iworkrevamp4Apple has announced significant improvements to its iWork applications – Pages, Keynote and Numbers – with enhanced design, features and abilities.

These updates come less than a week after Microsoft’s release of its popular Office suite of applications for the iPad.

iWork is Apple’s version of Office with Pages, Numbers and Keynote compatible with Microsoft’s popular Word, Excel and PowerPoint respectively.

Apple had pledged to continually improve its iWork products and has made good on that promise this week.

And these improvements apply across all versions of the iWork apps for iCloud, Mac and iOS and maintain a seamlessly way to work on and collaborate on your documents on any or all of these platforms.

Some of the new features include “view only” modes which allows user to share their documents for others to view but not edit.

In Pages there is now better placement of inserted and placement of objects, new templates and improved text wrap.

Numbers improvements make it easier to create, share and work with your date. These include sorting by multiple columns and improved pop menu support.

In Keynote you can use your finger to highlight slides on iOS plus you can choose from new transitions and build animations to make your presentations even more dynamic and entertaining.

These updates for iWork are available now on iOS, Mac and iCloud.

And if you’re coming to iWork for the first time you’ll be pleased to know that all of these applications across any of Apple’s platforms are free.
