Sony has launched three new home theatre projectors with 4K MotionFlow technology onboard to provide one of the best viewing experiences you can get outside of a public cinema.
The three projectors – the VPL-VW870ES, VPL-VW570ES and the VPL-VW270ES – will be available from November.
4K MotionFlow displays smoother and clearer motion which is achieved by adding frames to the image to significantly reduce the blur.
This makes the projectors perfect for fast-moving scenes in action movies and for watching sports.
All three of the new Sony 4K projectors also have HDR (high dynamic range) with even finer colour gradation courtesy of 18Gbps HDMI and 4K 60P 10bit processing compatibility.
This also comes into play for the growing demand for 4K/60P gaming content and providing faster response speeds which used to be the bane of previous projectors.
Also onboard is the Reality Creation engine which analyses every element of the picture to enhance the clarity and resolution while reducing the image noise.

SONY VPL-VW270ES – $7,999
This projector delivers 4K HDR and includes features from last year’s laser model including the new input reduction lag mode for gamers.
The VPL-VW270ES has a 1500 lumen lamp and includes MotionFlow and Vertical Stretch for 4K signals.
It also comes in a more compact size with 2.06 zoom and wide lens shift to make it easy for customers to set up.

SONY VPL-VW570ES – $11,999
This new step-up 4K projector includes all the features of the VPL-VW270ES but adds Picture Position Memory to quickly change the screen to fit any possible format including 16:9 and Cinemascope.
The VPL-VW570ES also has an 1800 lumens brightness and a high dynamic contrast of 350,000:1 thanks to Sony’s Advanced Iris technology.

SONY VPL-VW870ES – $35,999
This is Sony’s latest premium 4K laser light source projector for home theatre owners where money is no barrier to achieving the ultimate experience.
It contains an All Range Crisp Focus (ARC-F) lens – an 18-piece all glass lens that provides precision in every corner of the image.
The Digital Focus Optimiser delivers precise focus with no distortion.
Also included is dual control contrast which uses a physical iris and a modulated laser to maintain the optimum black level and highlight detail in real time scene to scene.
The new Sony 4K projectors will go on sale in November.
