Samsung has introduced a new 3D audio technology which will become part of its 2025 TV and soundbar lineup to create even more immersive audio and seamless playback on Samsung’s TV’s.
Samsung has announced the partnership with Eclipsa Audio to make this all possible.
“We are proud to lead the industry with the integration of Eclipsa Audio into our 2025 TV and soundbar lineup,” said Taeyong Son, Executive Vice President and Head of the R&D Team, Visual Display Business, Samsung Electronics.
“This innovation opens new possibilities for immersive audio experiences and reinforces our commitment to shaping the future of home entertainment.”
Samsung has been the world’s number one TV brand for 18 years running and its integration with Eclipsa Audio is a huge step forward in making this impressive new technology more accessible than ever before.
With the Eclipsa Audio it gives users the possibility of adjusting audio data as well as the location and intensity of the sound and spatial reflections.
The result is an immersive three-dimensional sound experience.
This move to partner with Eclipsa Audio would appear that Samsung is going up against other existing competing technologies like Dolby Atmos.
Samsung is the first company in the industry to adopt Eclipsa Audio across its entire 2025 TV lineup from the Crystal UHD all the way up to the premium flagship Neo QLED 8K models.
Creators will be able to upload a clips or audio tracks to YouTube.
These clips will be accessible on 2025 Samsung products to watch on YouTube with premium spatial audio when available.
Samsung is working with Google and the Telecommunications Technology Association (TTA) to create a certification programme for Eclipsa Audio compatible devices.
“We believe that Eclipsa Audio has the potential to change the way we experience sound,” said Jim Bankoski, Vice President of Engineering, Google Chrome.
“We are excited to see how the creator community uses it to create new and innovative audio experiences.”
The range of Samsung TVs and sound bars to feature Eclipsa Audio will be announced in the coming months.
