Tech Guide has taken a hands on look the Ecovacs booth at IFA in Berlin where it had on display the latest robots for inside and outside of your home.
We saw an excellent demonstration of all the new features on the GOAT T Series robot lawnmower, the DEEBOT X12S OmniCyclone, the ULTRAMARINE L1 Pro and the new WINBOT W3 Omni.
ECOVACS GOAT T SERIES ROBOT LAWN MOWER
The GOAT GT series is an AWD robot lawnmower can handle rough terrain and even traverse steep slopes.
One of the standout new features was the TruEdge trimmer – it’s actually a mini whipper snipper – which extends from the right side of the unit and goes right to the edge.
That means you don’t need to follow and do the edges manually because they are already done.
Another excellent feature is the charging stand, which now includes a wash system.
Ecovacs took its inspiration from the omni-directional suction of the robot vacuum and incorporated tanks into the charging bay, which, when connected to your hose, will be able to wash the underside of the mower.
ECOVACS DEEBOT X12S OMNICYCLONE ROBOT VACUUM AND MOP
This impressive new robot vacuum and mop has incorporated the OZMO Roller 3.0, which is longer and more effective, thanks to the strong downward pressure, high-speed scrubbing and its ability to get right to the edge.
We also saw a demonstration of the FocusJet Stain Pre-dissolving technology.
They spread out some sauce on a section of wooden floorboards on the stand before deploying the X12S.
The robot spotted the stain and sprayed extra water from the front of the unit to cover the stain before making a couple of passes to clean the mess like it was never there.
Another incredible demonstration of the robot’s suction through the 53AW Max Air motor.
It is so strong was able to lift to lift a 25 kg steel ball up a tube.
So you can imagine the dust and dirt and debris on your floors and in your carpet will be no match for this robot.
ECOVACS ULTRAMARINE L1 PRO
If you’ve got a pool the ULTRAMARINE L1 Pro can take over the cleaning duties completely.
Uses TrueMap LiDAR technology and can navigate pools of all shapes and sizes.
Like its robot vacuum cousins, the L1 Pro uses map-aware AI to create an efficient cleaning path inside the pool, on the walls and on the water line.
But one pain point with robot pool cleaners is the inability for Bluetooth and Wi-Fi to penetrate water which means no control through the companion app.
But that problem has been remedied with an all-new Solar-powered underwater connectivity unit, which uses sonar to translate the signal from the app to the unit through the water.
ECOVACS WINBOT W3 OMNI
If you want to keep your glass spick and span, the WINBOT W3 will do a great job and go truly edge-to-edge on not just windows but also other glass surfaces like your shower screens, pool fences, tiled walls and glass balconies.
The unit comes with what looks like a little washing machine which is where the pads get a vortex wash to ensure hygiene.
