Samsung Australia today revealed it had set pre-order records with the upcoming Galaxy Note 8 smartphone which is due to launch this Friday
Demand for the device is so high, the telcos will actually be delivering Note8 to pre-order customers a day or two ahead of the September 22 launch date.
Samsung Australia’s director of mobile and IT, Garry McGregor confirmed the record pre-order sales at the Australian launch of the Note8 and added there was a significant pre-sales bump a week ago – when the iPhone 8 and iPhone X were announced.
We suspect many customers were waiting to see what Apple had come up with before deciding to pre-order the Galaxy Note8 which will be in-store on the same day as the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus
This is a year after the device’s predecessor – the Note7 – was discontinued after battery and overheating issues.
But Samsung says the Note brand was far from dead because there was a massive customer base and, through their feedback and loyalty, the Note8 was born.
And it’s back – bigger and better than ever.

The device has a 6.3-inch Infinity Display and a dual lens camera.
But what makes the Note the Note is the S Pen which allows users to draw and write on the screen and also utilise a number of other features.
This comes six months after Samsung launched the Galaxy S8 and S8+ which have been confirmed as the most successful smartphones the company has ever launched.
