Google unveils new Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL smartphones at lower prices

Google has unveiled the new Pixel 3a and 3a XL which offers the high quality camera of the previous models but at half the price of its previous models which failed to make a dent on Apple and Samsung sales.

The devices are available now and will be available in black or white but still retain their familiar to tone design.

They will be available in two screen sizes with 5.6-inch and 6-inch displays.

Of course, the Pixel 3a and 3a XL will be running the latest Android operating system which will receive will remain secure and up to date with the latest software.

The Google Pixel smartphones are already known for their camera quality and that will flow through to the new devices which will include HDR+, portrait mode and Night Sight to allow users to capture images in the dark.

One new camera feature will be Time Lapse which will allow users to create imaginative videos shot over a long period but played in seconds whether it’s a sunset or a river cruise.

On the battery side, Google insists the device will run all day and into the next but also includes fast charging which will provide seven hours of use after a 15 minute charge.

A full charge will provide up to 30 hours of use.

The Pixel also retains its squeeze functionality to fire up the Google Assistant and allow users to send texts, get directions and set reminders using only your voice.

The Pixel 3a and 3a XL will be powered by the custom-built Titan M chip that offers improved performance and higher security.

The new Google phone will also provide customers with a preview of AR within Google maps which will provide walking directions overlaid on the area around you instead of looking at a blue dot on a map.

The Google Pixel 3a and 3a XL will be much cheaper than their predecessors which had price tags similar to the latest iPhones.

Google has realised the devices would be far more attractive to customers at a lower price.

The Pixel 3a (5.6-inch) will be priced at $649 while the Pixel 3a XL (6-inch) will be $799.

The new devices are now available in Australia through exclusive carrier launch partner Vodafone.

The Pixel 3a and 3a XL are also available at JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, Officeworks and the Google Store.
