HTC’s new U11 flagship smartphone – the device with Edge Sense so it can react to a squeeze – is now available to pre-order ahead of its release next month.
The U11 has a QHD 5.5-inch display and is running the latest Android operating system.
Also onboard is the 12-megapixel Ultra-Pixel camera which was recently judged by DxOMark to be the best in the world with a score of 90.
The previous best according to DxOMark was the Google Pixel which scored 89.
The HTC U11 also offers USonic technology – so the device can be optimised to the way you hear sound as well as active noise cancellation.
The device sends a signal through the earphones to map your inner ear and create a unique audio profile so your music will sound better than ever.
Edge Sense allows users to squeeze the phone to open the camera, take a picture, open Google Assistant or open any other app they use often.
It is a particularly useful feature when taking photos so it doesn’t matter if you’re underwater, wearing gloves or framing up the world’s best selfie.
One squeeze and you’ve captured the shot.
On the design front, the HTC U11 also has a lot to like especially the light-bending Liquid Surface chassis and its thin and sleek build.
Australian customers will have a choice of two colours – silver and black.
HTC has aggressively priced its new U11 smartphone at $999 – you pre-order it at the HTC site.
Anyone who pre-orders now will receive the phone in early June.
