Modern technology gives us many things.

Got a broken iPhone screen? Now the repairer can come to you and fix it in 30 minutes

We’ve all seen those little kiosks in shopping centres which can repair broken iPhone screens. Well imagine if that kiosk came to you? No need to imagine any more thanks to Sydney start-up Fix2U.

Now customers can have their broken screen for damaged device repaired at their home or workplace or any other agreed location in less than half an hour.

At the moment, Fix2U is only offering services for iPhones which include broken or cracked screens, rear camera repairs, charging issues, sound or microphone problems and water damage devices.

Prices start at just $89 for a screen replacement – that’s the bulk of the work for Fix2U – with the majority of repairs taking less than 30 minutes.

To repair a broken iPhone 6 screen at an Apple Store costs more than $200 and you have to make a Genius appointment, which could take hours or days, to get the work done.

The company was founded by Rex Scrivener and Sam Walker after experiencing high repair costs, long repair times and the inconvenience of not having a functioning phone.

“Both myself and Sam were holidaying in Bali when we had the lightbulb moment,” said Scrivener.

“The great idea was born from something terrible – I had a scooter crash, damaging both myself and my phone.

“That fateful night, Sam and I had a discussion about getting dinner delivered and I made a joke about how convenient it would be if the delivery guy could also fix my phone as I was too injured to venture to the shops.”

Since inception in 2016, the company has seen close to 300 per cent growth in revenue.

It repaired close to 2000 iPhones in the past three months alone with customers opting for an in-home service rather than taking their damage products to the Apple Store.

“Fix2U is one of the only nationwide phone repair callout services, providing a professional, fast and easy solution for gadget woes,” said Walker.

“Our Repair Heroes will fix a broken iPhone or tablet at the convenience of the customer and will venture to any location at any time and repair the device right in front of the client’s eyes.

“It means you don’t need to splash out on a phone replacement, you don’t need to wait in long lines to talk to a technician, and you don’t need to wait weeks before you get that “new phone feeling”.”

All of the Fix2U repairs also come with a remarkable five year warranty. And if the technician can’t fix it, the customer won’t be charged.

At the moment, Fix2U only repairs iPhones but will expand to repairing Samsung devices in the near future.

Fix2U can repair from the iPhone 4 and later all the way up to the iPhone 7 Plus.
