STIHL slashes prices on its hedge trimmer, brush cutter and high pressure washer for Black Friday

STIHL is a brand we all know when it comes battery-powered gardening tools and we put some of them through their paces. And the good news is they are all significantly discounted for Black Friday.

Tech Guide looked at STIHL’s HSA 45 Battery Hedge Trimmer, the FSA 45 Battery Brushcutter and the RE 125 X Pressure Washer.

STIHL HSA 45 BATTERY HEDGE TRIMMER – BLACK FRIDAY PRICE – $149 (USUALLY $249)

We’ve got a lot of hedges at our place and the STIHL HSA 45 Battery Hedge Trimmer helped us make light work of them all.

Light being the operative word – the trimmer only weighs 2.3kg – yet it powered through our hedges with its 50cm blades which produce clean cutting.

It can only be operated with two hands with the soft handle making it comfortable to hold and easy to control.

If you wanted to get into topiary – that’s hedge sculpting – then the STIHL HSA 45 Battery Hedge Trimmer is a must for the kit bag.

Being so lightweight it was easy to move across the hedges and easy to take up a ladder to get to those out of reach spots.

And it’s also super quiet as well so you can get into your work early without getting any grief from your neighbours and family members enjoying a sleep in.

The unit has an integrated 18V lithium ion battery that can be charged with the included wall charger.

It includes a charge indicator so you can easily see the battery level.

It also comes with a special activation key so you can safely charge it, clean it and transport it without accidental activation.

STIHL FSA 45 BATTERY BRUSH CUTTER – BLACK FRIDAY PRICE – $149 (USUALLY $249)

It’s easy to keep your lawns neat and tidy with the STIHL FSA 45 Battery Brush Cutter which, like the HAS 45 Battery Hedge Trimmer, has an integrated 18V lithium ion battery.

But it’s still a lightweight 2.3kg so it almost no effort to operate.

It has a telescopic shaft and a loop handle and is comfortable to hold and manoeuvre thanks to the balanced feel.

There are included blades to trim your edges, and you can also buy mowing line and loop it through as well.

And there are six spare blades on the back of the handle so you can replace a broken blade quicky and easily and continue with your work.

Of course there is a small cowling to protect the user from flying debris and a spacer bracket to at the front to help you keep your distance from plants and other objects.

The STIHL FSA 45 Battery Brush Cutter also comes with an activation key so there is no way it can be accidentally powered on when cleaning and transporting it.

And the onboard battery level indicator can tell you the charge level in an instant.

STIHL RE 125 X PRESSURE WASHER – BLACK FRIDAY PRICE $399 (USUALLY $499)

There is no more satisfying tool than a pressure washer and the STIHL RE 125 Pressure Washer certainly over delivered.

The STIHL RE 125 Pressure Washer offers 170 bar pressure with up to 500l/h water throughput.

This is NOT battery operated – it needs to connect to power as well as to your hose.

The unit is a lot smaller than other pressure hoses with a carry handle to easily move it around your home and garden.

It also has a low centre of gravity so it’s not going to topple over either.

The STIHL RE 125 Pressure Washer comes with a rotating spray lance so its light and easily to hold.

It comes with two fan jet nozzles which are suitable for different surfaces and different tasks.

Also in the box was a soap gun so you can add car wash soap to coat your car with foam for a hands-free wash.

The hose itself is reinforced with steel mesh so it can handle the high water pressure as well as external pressures and weight on the hose.

There is also a quick release coupling that prevents the hose from becoming twisted (a common problem with other high pressure hoses) so you can take advantage of the full length and cover more area without moving the main unit.
