GoPro has released new Mission 1 cameras – a higher-grade and rugged model to offer even higher resolutions, frame rates, and run times to perform in the most demanding environments.
There are three cameras in the range Mission One Pro, Mission One Pro ILS, Mission One.
They offer the same small light and rugged design as the original GoPro cameras but offer even higher performance and up to 8K resolution.
The cameras feature a 50MP one-inch sensor with a larger surface area which can capture more light and offer professional-level low-light performance with up to 14 stops of dynamic range at the sensor.
And paired with GoPro’s new GP3 processor, it offers professional-grade image quality.
Also on board is an AI neural processing unit (NPU) to allow next-generation video pixel processing and remarkable low-light image performance.
MISSION 1 PRO
This flagship model can shoot 8K/60, 4K/240 and 1080p/960 in 16:9.
It also offers open gate video capture and 50 MP raw photo capture, all powered through the power-efficient GP3 processor, which not only enhances image quality but also offers longer battery life and better thermal performance for ultra reliability in extreme use cases.
The Mission 1 camera is also available in a Grip Edition, which makes the camera even more rugged for run-and-gun style capture.
The Creator Edition is bundled with the new Mission 1 series media mod for I/O port expansion and a built-in microphone.
The Ultimate Creator Edition is for the user looking for the best of everything and comes with GoPro’s Fluid Pro AI gimbal for advanced stabilisation and AI-powered subject tracking.
MISSION 1 PRO ILS
This has the same 50 MP one-inch sensor and GP3 processor as the Mission One Pro but in a mirrorless form with an interchangeable lens mount that supports the huge range of Micro Four Thirds lenses and adapters.
The Mission One Pro ILS supports in-camera hyper-smooth video stabilisation.
And with its rugged weatherproof design, it is the world’s smallest and most rugged, versatile high-speed camera but at a fraction of the cost of similar cameras in its class.
The camera offers several creative options, including telephoto, zoom and macro.
MISSION 1
This camera is the same as the flagship model but it’s limited to: 4K120 open gate video capture, 8K30, 4K120, 1080p240 16:9 video capture along with 50MP photo capture.
This is designed for the user who does not require higher open gate resolutions but still wants to benefit from the new 50MP 1-inch sensor and the power-efficient GP3 processor.
MISSION 1 ECOSYSTEM
The GoPro Mission One ecosystem includes a wireless mic system to capture high-quality audio.
Also available is a point-and-shoot grip to transform it into a point-and-shoot camera with a more ergonomic look and feel.
The Enduro 2 battery has a capacity of 2150 mAh and can deliver even longer run times and faster charging.
GoPro has yet to announce pricing and release date.
