Trying to safe on the road is harder for cyclists but a new product introduced at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas called Cosmo Connected can make riders even more visible on the road.
The device attached to the back of a rider’s helmet and, through the connected companion app, the person can indicate they are making a left or right turn and also trigger warning lights.
And the red brake light is automatically activated when Cosmo Connected, which is an evolution of the product for motorcycle riders, detects when the person decelerates.
The product provides even more visibility to the other cars and riders in the road.
But it doesn’t just stop at indicating whether a cyclist is braking or turning.
It also has accident detection through the device’s built-in accelerometer so if a rider takes a spill or is knocked off the bike, a family member or friend can be notified.
A setting within the app also allows the rider to choose to call emergency services in the event of an accident.
These responders will try and call the rider and if there is no response after two calls then the paramedics are dispatched.
The device will be available in the coming months from the company’s website.
