Sennheiser launches Momentum headphones with Smart Pause and noise cancellation

Sennheiser has launched the third generation of its premium Momentum headphone range which combine the company’s signature audio quality, the latest technology and a modern design.

On board is an auto on/off and Smart Pause feature which means the Sennheiser Momentum wireless headphones turn on when unfolded, pause when they are removed and resume when they are put on again.

This is achieved by using proximity sensors so the user doesn’t have to fiddle with any buttons or controls –  their music is right there when they want it.

The headphone earpads  are made from sheepskin leather  while the pearl-blasted stainless steel sliders offer a sense of luxury and functionality so you get a perfect fit.

Our Momentum range has been synonymous with a unique blend of superior sound quality, progressive technology and remarkable craftsmanship, and with the third generation, we are bringing this contemporary classic into the always-on, connected age,” said Stephane Hareau, Global Head of Products Consumer at Sennheiser.

“The new Momentum Wireless is a smart headphone that gives you fast, effortless control: whether enjoying entertainment or making calls, escaping it all or staying connected – it anticipates your needs and lets you interact intuitively and instantly.”

There is also a dedicated button to offer one touch access to voice assistants including Siri and Google Assistant with Amazon Alexa coming soon.

On the audio side, the Sennheiser Momentum wireless headphones are powered by 42mm transducers to offer a balanced and precise sound.

The headphones have Bluetooth 5 compatibility and can support aptXTM, AAC, and SBC codecs as well as aptXTM Low Latency  so the on-screen visuals synchronise precisely with the audio when watching movies.

The Sennheiser Momentum wireless headphones also have active noise cancellation with three different modes depending on how much ambient sound you want to eliminate.

The Transparent Hearing function also allows users to listen to their music and still be aware of outside noises for greater situational awareness.

The Sennheiser Momentum wireless headphones have a 17 hour battery life and the folding headband design allows them to be easily folded away in the included fabric case.

And the headphones will be difficult to lose thanks to the smart Tile technology built in so they can be found using the Tile app.

The Sennheiser Momentum wireless headphones will be available in November in either black or sandy white and will be priced at $599.95.
