Nikon reveals new range of Coolpix compact cameras

Nikon has just announced four distinct new models in the COOLPIX line-up with each boasting standout features including GPS, built-in wi-fi and the Android operating system.

This new range of Nikon compact cameras are designed make taking high quality photos even easier.

These new products are suited all types of users with an emphasis on ultra-stylish and ergonomic design.

All of these new models will be available in late September with prices to be announced closer to release.

COOLPIX S800c

This device is the first camera to feature the Android 2.3 operating system along with built-in wi-fi connectivity to connect and share images in the same way your smartphone can.

But with one major difference – the camera onboard the COOLPIX S800c has a stunning 16 megapixel resolution with 10x zoom.

And because you’re running Android that means you can install all of your favourite apps including mail, Google maps, YouTube and Gmail.

This means users can share their images to social networks and also email them to friends right from the camera inside a wireless network.

There’s also built-in GPS and the ability to record full high definition 1080p videos.

The movies can be recorded in slow motion at ½, ¼ and 1/8th normal speed and fast motion at twice the normal playback speed.

COOLPIX S01

The S01 is the smallest and lightest COOLPIX camera ever.

The silver body of the device is smaller than a business card and it weighs just 96g so it easily fits in the palm of your hand.

So now there’s no excuse that you can’t take the 10.1 megapixel S01 with you everywhere.

There is 3x optical zoom, touchscreen operation, special effects and filters and HD video recording (720p).

The device is too small to fit in a SD card but it does have a 7.3GB internal memory to store your photographs.

COOLPIX S6400

Functionality, features and style all intersect with the S6400.

The camera is just 19.8mm at its slimmest point and has a smooth curved design with easy access to the all of the features through the 3-inch touchscreen.

The device has 16 megapixel resolution with 12x optical zoom and full high definition video recording.

Users can also choose from up to 30 effects to apply to their shots.

For night shots the S6400 can still create excellent images by taking a number of pictures and combining them to produce one great shot.

COOLPIX P7700

For those looking for the convenience of a compact camera but still want high quality shots and manual control then the P7700 is the camera to buy.

The quality of pictures captured with the P7700 is on par with a digital SLR camera but with a lightweight device made of durable magnesium alloy.

COOLPIX P7700 has 12.2 megapixel resolution and 7.1x optical zoom and can also record full high definition movies.

The P7700 has a 3-inch Vari-Angle TFT display which can swing out on a hinge and allow you to frame your shots from various angles.

This model also supports Advanced Wireless Lighting – part of the Nikon Creative Lighting System – so it can be used to control master and remote flash units in a studio set up.
