Telstra customers take a look at your smartphone. You may notice a new message on the screen – it now says #LetsVaxx where it normally says Telstra as the company gets behind the vaccination push.
Customers connected to the Telstra network on a compatible device will see Telstra scroll over to #LetsVaxx as Australians unite to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic.
And fully vaccinated members of the Telstra Plus Program will receive 2,500 bonus Telstra Plus Points.
When claiming their points, these fully vaccinated Telstra customers will go into a 100 million point major prize draw with 20 winners to receive 5 million Telstra Plus points each and $3,500 credit to cover the cost of eligible Telstra services each year.
All Telstra Plus members, vaccinated or not, will also receive a digital care package including a Telstra TV Box Office movie, discounts on food delivery and access to discounts in the Telstra Plus rewards store.
Telstra is also launching a social media campaign to bust conspiracy theories around COVID-19 vaccinations and have enlisted the help of leading satirist Mark Humphries
Telstra CEO Andy Penn has called on business leaders to unite on a national plan in a blog post on the company’s website.
“Today at Telstra we announced a range of incentives for our customers to be vaccinated and a care package to support them while they are in lockdown,” Penn says.
“This is in addition to incentives we announced two weeks ago for our people.
“It’s important that as a business leader I do everything I can to encourage our customers and the Telstra team to get vaccinated – to keep ourselves and others safe and to give them hope that there is a pathway out of the severe lockdowns so many of us are facing.
“I’m seeing a loss of hope across the 50,000 people that make up the team at Telstra.
“I am seeing a loss of hope with my friends and my family – a loss of optimism, an erosion of confidence.
“We need to refocus on rebuilding hope and the sooner we do the better and that’s something in which we can all play a role.”
