DJI has released the Osmo Pocket 4 – an impressive update to the previous model of the pocket gimbal camera – which can now capture rock steady 4K/240fps and 14 stops of dynamic range.
The Osmo Pocket 4 has new intelligent tracking capabilities so that whatever or whoever you’re shooting stays in focus and in the middle of the frame.
Onboard the Osmo Pocket 4 is a 1-inch CMOS sensor and f/2.0 aperture to capture stunning images and videos even in low light.
There are 14 stops of dynamic range and 10-bit D-Log colour profile so it can capture natural colour and accurate skin tones.
Now there is a dedicated zoom button so creators can go between 1x and 2x lossless zoom and jump 4x with a single press of the button.
The other new button is a custom preset button that can be set to your preferred setting.
There is also a new 5D joystick to accurately move the camera, recentre the gimbal and flip the camera to selfie mode.
And with the 4K/240fps capability you can record ultra-high definition slow motion footage.
The signature feature of the Osmo Pocket 4 is the three axis gimbal for outstanding stabilisation whether you’re shooting content or live streaming on the move.
The result is smooth camera movements and pro-level quality.
And with ActiveTrack 7.0 it’s possible to track your subjects even at 4x zoom.
Active Track can be activated by flashing an open palm and showing the peace V gesture triggers the shutter to capture an image or start shooting video.
Other tracking modes at your fingertips include Spotlight Follow and Dynamic Framing.
There is 107GB of built-in storage onboard but store more on a microSD card.
The Osmo Pocket 4 also has:
– Slow Shutter Video: In Video mode, shutter speeds can be adjusted to create motion blur, capturing movement trails and the passage of time for a unique visual experience.
– Film Tone: Choose from a range of film tones to easily recreate classic styles and capture master-grade tones.
– In-Camera Beautify: Fine-tune skin smoothness, brightness, and tone for a natural look in both selfies and group shots.
– Attachable Fill Light: Adds natural, soft lighting to enhance low-light or backlit scenes, with three brightness and temperature settings.
– Extended Runtime & Fast Charging: Recharge from 0 to 80 per cent in 18 minutes
for up to three hours of shooting. When fully charged, it can record up to 240 minutes of 1080p/24fps footage.
The Osmo Pocket 4 has a built-in microphone array but it can also connect directly with DJI Mic transmitters for 4-channel audio recording.
It can support DJI Mic 2, Mic 3 and Mic Mini.
