HP has launched a new workplace intelligence layer called HP IQ which is designed to streamline workplace workflows, improve creativity and make it easier to collaborate.
HP IQ was unveiled at the HP Imagine 2026 event in New York.
HP IQ offers on-device intelligence and proximity-based connectivity to other nearby devices to make it easier to share files.
“HP’s vision for the future of work is a connected, intelligent ecosystem that helps workflow across devices, spaces, and the moments in between,” said Tuan Tran, President of HP’s Technology & Innovation Organization.
“HP IQ is how we connect those experiences, reducing digital friction for employees while fitting into the environments IT already manages, so organizations can bring these experiences to life with confidence.”
HP IQ will debut on the latest generation HP EliteBook X G2 PCs coming in the second half of the year.
HP IQ offers several on-device AI experiences starting with Ask IQ.
Ask IQ allows users make text and voice queries to find contextual answers to what they are working on.
HP IQ can also analyse which means it can interact with documents and offer summaries, priority issues and actionable issues.
The platform can also keep a record of interactions with colleagues so user can pick up where they left off from the previous meetings.
HP IQ also shows they are nearby in the same meeting on a small map that shows their proximity to you so files can be shared instantly instead of emailing them or retrieving them from the cloud.
This feature is powered by HP NearSense technology which is a new spatial intelligence to detect and connect nearby device to make collaboration even easier.
This feature will be part of the functionality of the HP EliteBook X G2 AI PC and other select HP notebooks.
It offers a single click join to create a fast and secure connection to share documents, images and presentations.
NearSense will be able to discover print devices, workstations, desktops and peripherals.
Also built into HP IQ is a meeting agent that can capture ideas and record notes so participants can stay focused on what’s being discussed.
And HP says even more AI features will be rolled out in the future.
HP IQ is designed to make your workflow even more streamlined and is designed to work in more places including locations with limited connectivity.
It can run most of its experiences on device to reduce exposure risk and keep sensitive data safe.
When permitted HP IQ can also route some tasks to the cloud.
And while it has been built for enterprise environments, the HP IQ platform will be developed as a consumer version down the track.
There are also talks with Google to expand HP IQ to Android devices so the experience can be utilised on multiple devices and on the move.
“As HP IQ introduces a new intelligence layer across devices and workspaces, WXP operates above it as a trusted control plane for IT, delivering unified visibility, built-in security, seamless manageability, and proactive remediation across the device fleet,” said Manoj Leelanivas, President of HP Solutions.
“Together, on-device AI and WXP enable HP to deliver intuitive, high-performance user environments while giving organizations the governance and actionable insights needed to thrive in the future of work.”
HP IQ will be available for early access on HP AI PCs in the coming months before expanding to select HP notebooks and desktops.
New HP IQ-enabled devices are expected to begin shipping in the second half of the year.
