The new Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2 has just gone on sale in Australia and offers a premium PC experience that customers have come to expect from the latest Surface products.

Starting at $1,199, the Surface Laptop Go 2 is powered by the quad-core 11th Gen Intel Core i5 processor and is, of course, running Windows 11.

The product offers the signature Surface premium design and useful features including Instant On and Windows Hello through the fingerprint reader that is integrated into the power button

The Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2 has a metal finish and tips the scales at just one 1.12kg which makes it an ideal companion to take with you anywhere.

It has a 12.4-inch PixelSense touchscreen display with a 3:2 aspect ratio which makes it a good shape for watching content and browsing websites.

There are built-in USB-C and USB-A ports, Surface Connect (for charging) and a headphone jack.

Microsoft knows you’re making many more video calls nowadays and that’s why it has included an improved HD camera and two Studio Mics so you can look and sound your best when making your next video call.

The Surface Laptop Go 2 also has a full-size keyboard with keys that offer 30 per cent more key travel than a MacBook Air.

It also has an extra-large precision trackpad to easily navigate the system on the move.

Microsoft says the laptop includes an all-day battery which will last up to 13.5 hours.

The Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2 is now available in a range of colours including Sage, Ice Blue, Sandstone and Platinum.

The Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2 is priced from $1,199 and includes the Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB RAM and 128GB SSD.

The model with 256GB SSD is priced at $1,299.
