D-Link has just launched its new Omna Wire-Free Indoor/Outdoor Surveillance Kit to provide around-the-clock smart home monitoring.

The cameras have powerful lithium batteries on board to provide a significantly extended battery life so you’re not constantly up a ladder having to recharge the batteries.

The D-Link Omna Wire-Free Indoor/Outdoor Surveillance Kit also comes with a wi-fi hub and includes a complimentary 12 month subscription to the mydlink cloud recording service for up to five cameras (usually $US49.99).

The kit includes two DCS-2800LH wire-free cameras and a DCS-H100 wi-fi hub and is designed for home or small business monitoring.

“Our new Omna Wire-Free Surveillance Kit gives users complete flexibility to keep an eye on the things that matter most, both inside or outside of your home, no matter the weather,” D-Link ANZ MD Graeme Reardon said.

“There are no wires to run, and with high-power, rechargeable batteries powering each weather and dust-resistant camera, you’ll never have to worry about running ugly network cabling throughout your home or be restricted to installing cameras close to a power outlet again.

“It also sports advanced features including Full HD 1080p video capture, combined with options to record footage to a locally connected microSD Card or USB Hard Drive, or to the mydlink cloud recording service, as well as crisp and clear two-way audio.

“In short Omna Wire-Free provides homes or businesses an easy choice to step up to the next level of smart surveillance solutions.”

The cameras are compact and wireless in a suitable for indoor or outdoor use and can capture full high definition 1080p video.

They come with magnetic mounts as well as a separate mounting arm so you’re able to position them anywhere inside or out.

They also include built-in night vision to give clear images even in complete darkness up to 7.5m away courtesy of its built-in infrared LEDs.

It also has advanced motion detection plus two-way audio so you can talk to whoever is in front of the camera.

Users can choose to record the video locally to a connected microSD card or USB hard drive or to the mydlink cloud recording service which offers peace of mind with automated storage of your videos.

The Omna Wire-Free Indoor/Outdoor Surveillance Kit also supports both Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant so they can be easily incorporated into your smart home.

With the mydlink skill for Alexa, customers can view live feeds from an Omna wire-free camera on the Amazon Echo Show screen.

The Omna Wire-Free Indoor/Outdoor Surveillance Kit also has a companion app which steps users through the installation.

The app also allows users to control the cameras, view the live or stored video as well as set up schedules or event triggers.

Customers will also receive notifications if the cameras detect movement.

The new Omna Wire-Free Surveillance Kit (DCS-2802KT) is available now in Australia at www.dlink.com.au  for $799.99 and in New Zealand at www.dlink.co.nz  for NZ$899.99  and at all authorised D-Link resellers and retailers across Australia and New Zealand.

Stay tuned to Tech Guide for a full review of the D-Link Omna Wire-Free Surveillance Kit in the coming weeks.
